Y. Ping Sun Honored By City of Houston, Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council and the National Diversity Council

We are proud to share three special honors that our colleague and friend, Y. Ping Sun, has recently received.

First, Houston Mayor Annise Parker proclaimed that April 23, 2015 was “Y.Ping Sun Day.”  Ping was presented with a proclamation by Houston City Council member, Ellen Cohen, who stood in  Y Ping Sun Day Proclamation_April 23 2015for the Mayor, who was traveling out of the country, at the Girl Scouts’ 5th Annual Success to Significance luncheon.

The proclamation said, “The city of Houston commends and appreciates Y. Ping Sun for setting an example for Houston’s young people, particularly young women, by succeeding academically and professionally, and giving back to her community generously.”  The proclamation went on further to say, “She works with diligence and grace for the benefit of both her home country and adopted hometown as chair of the Mayor’s International Trade and Development Council for Asia/Australia.”

Second, after being honored by the city of Houston, Ping was also honored by the Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council, which highlighted her accomplishments as a Rice University representative and social investor.

Finally, Ping was recognized as one of the Most Powerful and Influential Women of 2015 by the National Diversity Council,  a non-profit organization that brings together the private, public and non-profit sectors to discuss the many dimensions and benefits of a multicultural environment, at its annual diversity and leadership conference in Houston.

In reflecting on the honors, Paul Yetter, managing partner, notes, “We are very proud of all of Ping’s accomplishments, and feel very fortunate to have her as part of our firm.” He adds,”she is a wonderful colleague, friend, and example of tirelessly giving back.”
