The Texas Lawbook honored Charlie Parker as one of 50 “Lions of the Texas Bar,” a group of legendary business lawyers aged 65 and older who have made significant contributions to the legal profession or society.
To celebrate the selection, a special CLE presentation was held in Houston that featured a panel of the city’s most recognized litigators, including Richard Mithoff, David Beck, Harry Reasoner, Carol Dinkins, Robin Gibbs, Martin Beirne, and others. In front of a packed crowd, the group discussed their professional careers, some of their biggest trials and the toughest lawyers they faced, as well as changes they are witnessing in the practice of law. There was also a tribute to legendary trial lawyer, Joe Jamail, who passed away in late December 2015.
The group of 50 was selected from nominations put forward by a panel of more than 30 seasoned veteran Texas lawyers, including ten current or former corporate general counsel, two federal judges, and two law deans, to identify the group of active lawyers who have made an impact through their practice of law.
