Yetter Coleman Partner Reagan W. Simpson Co-Authors and Co-Edits Newest Edition of ABA Book on Attorney-Client Privilege in Civil Litigation

Yetter Coleman LLP partner Reagan W. Simpson has co-authored and co-edited the book The Attorney-Client Privilege in Civil Litigation: Protecting and Defending Confidentiality, Eighth Edition, published by the Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section of the American Bar Association.

The book provides practical guidance to civil trial lawyers in litigating claims of confidentiality for attorney-client communications and attorney work product. Chapters cover topics addressing common interest or joint defense privilege, waiver of privileges, exceptions to privileges and procedural tools for litigating privileges. It includes guidance on various situations in which protecting privileged information is essential such as representation of organizational clients, insurance disputes, bankruptcy matters, patent litigation, public relations related to litigation and internal investigations, as well as choice of law issues involving privilege.

One of the nation’s premier appellate practitioners, Simpson has authored and edited dozens of articles and publications. His practice at Yetter Coleman focuses on complex commercial litigation and appeals in the areas of tort, personal injury and commercial torts. He is a Fellow of both the American College of Trial Lawyers and the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers. Simpson also is an Advocate-level member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and a member of the American Law Institute.

Simpson is admitted to practice in all state courts in Texas, the United States Supreme Court, the Fifth Circuit, all United States District Courts in Texas, and other federal appellate and district courts throughout the country.
