The newly-issued 2018 Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business annual directory has once again named Yetter Coleman as a top Texas commercial litigation firm. Notably, the firm appears as part of this year’s Band 1 and 2 grouping that is fully comprised of litigation boutiques, reflecting a shift in where clients perceive the top commercial litigation talent is found.
With more than a decade of continuous recognition for the firm’s commercial litigation practice, clients and market sources tell the publisher, “The team has excellent trial lawyers, and knows how to organize a case and how to present it to a jury,” describing Yetter Coleman as “a strong team with hands-on litigators.”
This year’s Guide also includes new honors for the firm’s intellectual property practice through individual recognition for partners Bob McAughan and Jeff Andrews, who joined the firm at the beginning of 2018.
Paul Yetter – Received Band 1 ranking, is recognized as one of the top commercial litigators in Texas, and is once again recognized for his antitrust practice with Band 3 ranking. Chambers and Partners reports that clients say he “has great intellectual capability and is a great trial lawyer,” adding: “He is very smart, very adept, doesn’t overstate the case and is always very well prepared.” The publisher reports that Paul has a highly regarded commercial litigation practice, with particular industry expertise in energy, transportation, and technology. Chambers sources say: “He is an outstanding trial lawyer and has very sound judgment,” and described as “an excellent strategist.”
Reagan Simpson – Once again ranked Band 1 in Appellate and Band 2 in Energy and Natural Resources, with sources telling Chambers that Reagan is “excellent,” with a mixed trial and appellate practice, which involves extensive experience in commercial and energy litigation and that Reagan is additionally noted for his expertise in tort cases.
Collin Cox – Ranked in Band 3 for commercial litigation, Chambers reports that sources say Collin is “fantastic” and impresses them with his performance in trials. The publisher notes he has a respected litigation practice, which involves acting for clients on both sides of the docket, and offers particular expertise in the financial services, software, and energy industries.
Bob McAughan – Ranked in Band 2 for Texas Intellectual Property, sources tell Chambers that Bob is “a very high-quality lawyer,” noting that “Bob is quick on his feet and takes great depositions,” and say he provides comprehensive practice includes a wide range of IP litigation and advice.
Jeff Andrews – In his first year to appear in the Guide in Band 4 for Texas Intellectual Property, Chambers notes that Jeff’s practice covers a variety of fields and technologies including medical devices, oilfield services, and software. Clients tell Chambers that “He has a fantastic ability to break down complex IP issues in a way that is easily understandable by people without legal backgrounds.”
