Alex tries complex, high-stakes commercial cases. He represents plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal courts and in domestic and international arbitrations, with experience spanning the energy, technology, pharmaceutical, eCommerce, and financial services industries in disputes involving breach of contract, fraud, antitrust, insurance coverage, and corporate governance.

Alex has tried cases as second chair in federal and state courts and has served on trial and arbitration teams in matters involving significant financial exposure. His experience includes examining witnesses and arguing motions in a jury trial resulting in a unanimous verdict awarding full $10.9 million damages in an oilfield supply contract dispute. He also successfully defended a major oil and gas company and start-up pharmaceutical company in bench trials in state and federal courts in Texas. Other representative matters include representing Google in a digital advertising antitrust suit by state attorneys general; achieving a $58.5 million settlement in a business civil rights damages retrial against a California county; defending a major independent oil and gas company in an LCIA arbitration arising from Winter Storm Uri; and representing corporate directors in an expedited removal dispute across the Texas Business Court, Delaware Court of Chancery, and Nevada state court.

Alex received his J.D. from New York University School of Law where he served as Executive Editor of the NYU Law Review. Alex was a judicial extern for Judge Dennis Jacobs, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in New York, and a judicial intern for Judge Marcy S. Friedman of the New York County Supreme Court, Commercial Division. Prior to joining the firm, Alex practiced with Simpson Thacher & Bartlett in New York.
