Amy C. Farish

Amy’s practice focuses on high-stakes business disputes involving fiduciary duty claims, trade secrets and corporate governance.

She has tried cases in state and federal courts across the country and guides clients through every stage of litigation, from pre-suit strategy through trial and resolution.

Her experience includes representing corporations, executives, investors, private equity funds, and closely held businesses in matters involving significant financial and operational interests. She has handled disputes over corporate control, executive departures, fiduciary-duty claims, trade secrets, and other business torts in courts across Texas and beyond.

In addition to her commercial litigation practice, Amy serves as the firm’s Pro Bono Coordinator and helped establish the firm’s Pro Bono Committee. Under her leadership, the firm has achieved full associate participation in pro bono work and expanded programs that support its longstanding commitment to community service.

Recognition for her work includes the 2023 Outstanding Young Litigator Award from the State Bar of Texas Litigation Section. Representative Experience

• Member of trial team defending a client against breach-of-fiduciary-duty claims seeking to strip the client of control of billions of dollars in assets. Led preparation for a month-long trial.
• Second-chair trial partner in a weeks-long bench trial in Lake Charles, Louisiana, involving fiduciary-duty and accounting-irregularity claims. Examined key witnesses, including experts, and presented closing argument.
• Second-chair trial partner in a three-week jury trial in San Diego, California. Presented key fact and expert witnesses.
• Member of trial team representing an LNG executive in litigation against a lender in New York state court and later federal bankruptcy court. Presented key witnesses, including the lead negotiator of the underlying agreements and a real estate expert.
• Member of trial team representing a family-owned company in a Texas state-court dispute with a former employee. Secured a complete victory, including disgorgement of compensation, favorable privilege rulings, and attorneys’ fees.
• Led team and facilitated a favorable settlement for clients challenging their removal from executive positions at an oil and gas company involved in a hostile acquisition. Directed litigation in the Texas Business Court, Delaware Court of Chancery, and Nevada state court.
• Facilitated a settlement on behalf of private equity funds sued alongside a portfolio company and its founder in a dispute involving fiduciary-duty and trade-secret claims.
• Member of trial team that represented investors defrauded through a Ponzi scheme allegedly facilitated by a bank’s conduct. Led trial efforts across three offices, handled key depositions, and negotiated a settlement.
• Defended a major energy company against trade-secret claims, fully preparing the matter for arbitration before it settled.
