Robert Woods Selected to Institute of Energy Law 2nd Leadership Class For 2019-2020

The Institute for Energy Law (IEL) announced that Robert Woods has been selected for membership in its 2nd Leadership Class for 2019-2020. He will join the group, which includes 40 professionals, in a class consisting of attorneys, landmen, academics, and others from ten states and the District of Columbia, many of them working in oil and gas litigation and transactions, as well as in areas including environmental, toxic tort, construction, intellectual property, maritime, renewables, mining, and power.

The Class will participate in a retreat this fall and will continue through spring of 2020 with webinars, networking events, programming at IEL’s 71st Annual Oil and Gas Law Conference, and IEL’s 4th National Young Energy Professionals’ Law Conference in Austin, Texas.

Robert was selected for the Class from a group of 70 applicants. He regularly works with clients including Southwestern Energy, Apache, Newfield Exploration, and Noble Energy, and is recognized as a “Texas Rising Star” in Energy & Natural Resources by Thomson Reuters’ Super Lawyers. Robert is the founder of prudentoperator.com, a blog providing digestible and relevant commentary on oil and gas litigation and industry current events. He also frequently publishes and presents on emerging issues in the oil and gas industry.

IEL is a division of the Center for American and International Law focused on providing educational and professional opportunities for lawyers and other professionals in the energy industry through educational courses, conferences, scholarly publications, and membership activities.
